Nona was a 23rd century Neuralese woman, a witch of the Hill People on Neural.

History[]

In the 2260s, she was married to James T. Kirk's friend, Tyree, the leader of the tribe. (TOS episode & Star Trek 10 novelization: A Private Little War, ST - Klingons - Blood Will Tell comic: "Issue 3")

Despite her marriage, she lusted after power. When Kirk was poisoned by a Mugato bite, he was brought to a cave, where she spied Leonard McCoy heating boulders with a phaser in order to keep Kirk warm. She demanded to know where they came from in exchange for curing him. (TOS episode & Star Trek 10 novelization: A Private Little War)

The cure involved creating a psychic connection between them, one she claimed would compel him to obey her forever. Later, she drugged Kirk with an herbal aphrodisiac and stole his phaser. (TOS episode & Star Trek 10 novelization: A Private Little War, Fact Files Issue 5: "Captain James T. Kirk and the Prime Directive")

She was killed attempting to betray the tribe to the villagers, by bringing the phaser to their leader Apella. (TOS episode & Star Trek 10 novelization: A Private Little War, TOS novel: Serpents in the Garden)

Nona's height is based on that of Nancy KovackMA, the actor who portrayed her. (Nancy Kovack article at Trivia Tribute.)
