Memory Beta, non-canon Star Trek Wiki

The Northwest peninsula is a region on Bajor that was mostly uninhabited.

In 2370, Haneek suggested to Minister Rozahn that the Skrreea could settle in the northwest peninsula and farm its plains. Projections indicated that the Skrreea would have little luck farming the peninsula and other factors could make the situation worse. (DS9 episode: "Sanctuary")

In 2376, several Europani refugees were temporarily settled in the Northwest Peninsula. The area was still poorly developed and their presence caused water tables to drop. When the issue was discussed at a meeting of the Vedek Assembly, Vedek Solis Tendren lamented that the peninsula may have been better able to cope if the Skrreea had been allowed to settle there. (DS9 novel: Cathedral)
