Nova was a human female from the Earth of a parallel universe.
She was the companion of George Taylor in that planet’s year 3978. Like other humans from that alternate Earth, she was mute.
History[]
A landing party from the USS Enterprise beamed down to the alternate Earth near the fallen Statue of Liberty. They followed tracks in the sand of two people and a horse, which led them to Nova and Colonel George Taylor, who were camping along the shore. Nova, Taylor and the landing party were then transported to the location of Zira and Cornelius.
Nova seemed friendly to Leonard McCoy. After Taylor sneaked aboard the Enterprise, Nova disappeared. Taylor thought she had just retreated to a safe distance, being uncomfortable around so many strangers. Before the Enterprise crew departed, Nova and Taylor were transported back to the beach, held hands and waved goodbye. (TOS comic: "The Primate Directive")
