Nyama ya kitunguu was a type of onion beef sauce popular in Africa on Earth in the 23rd century.

History and specifics[]

In the 2260s decade, Nyota Uhura gave Nurse Christine Chapel a recipe for nyama ya kitunguu, made with oil, Spanish onion, beef, beef broth, pepper, and cornstarch. She adapted the dish to be served by the USS Enterprise's food processors, recommending it be served with mahindi kama kilimanjaro or wali ya kilimanjaro. (TOS reference: Official Cooking Manual)
