The Nyberrite Alliance is the political state of the Nyberrite race.
Well regarded by the Federation, the Ferengi Alliance and the Klingon and Romulan empires, the Nyberrites chose to not get involved in interstellar politics. The Vorta attempted to convince them to ally with the Dominion, but the attempt was rebuffed. The Romulans share a border with the Nyberrites, and believe that the Nyberrites were at war with a race of hunters. Nyberrite cruisers tended to be lightly armed, so instead relied on attack fighters. Crews of their ships were hired from other races. (DS9 reference: Gamma Quadrant Sourcebook)
In 2372, Worf considered applying for a position on a Nyberrite Alliance cruiser, but was given a posting to Deep Space 9 by Benjamin Sisko. (DS9 episode & novelization: The Way of the Warrior)
