The Obatta Cluster was a stellar cluster, a group of stars with an associated yellow nebula located in the Gavara sector in the galaxy's Gamma Quadrant. (DS9 episode: "The Quickening", ST reference: Star Charts, STO - Gamma Quadrant mission: "Storm Clouds Gather")

The Teplan system and Jenkata Nebula were situated in the stellar cluster's general vicinity. (DS9 episode: "The Quickening")

The Gavara system lay near or within the boundaries of the Obatta Cluster. (STO - Gamma Quadrant mission: "Storm Clouds Gather")

Jenkata Nebula and Obatta Cluster, 2378

In 2372, Major Kira Nerys directed her Danube-class runabout into the Jenkata Nebula to avoid detection by the Jem'Hadar. This led to first contact between the Federation and the Teplans when Kira and Doctor Julian Bashir landed their runabout on Teplan I. (DS9 episode: "The Quickening")
