Memory Beta, non-canon Star Trek Wiki

As their name implied, the Observers were a race of beings who observed the primary universe but did not interfere or interact with it. They were normally imperceptible to the denizens of the universe, but the Q Continuum was able to glimpse them when they were ill.

History[]

Witnessing the Observers and coming to accept that some things were beyond their control was considered to be a rite of passage for the Q. When Q fell ill, he attempted to first use his powers on the Observers before trying to access their realm, only for his father to pull him back and convince him it was best to leave the Observers be. (ST comic: "What's a Q to You?")
