Ensign Octavio Hernandez was a male Human Starfleet officer, a planetary sciences specialist assigned to the Federation starship USS Enterprise in the 23rd century.
History[]
In 2269, he was part of the first landing party that went to the planet Anomaly. He delivered a cart full of body armor for the team to wear in order to protect themselves from large, aggressive wildlife.
After they landed in a shuttlecraft and discovered that most of their powered technology did not work, Hernandez joined Kirk and six security officers to get water samples. Later, he used a digger to help build a protective moat around the shuttle perimeter and worked with other science officers to devise a drawbridge. (TOS novel: Planet of Judgment)
