Ogat was a planet colonized by the Klingon Empire, the home to a military training academy. (TNG novel: Kahless)

It was the third planet in the Ogat star system. (ST video game: Infinite)

History and specifics[]

In the year 2370, K'mtar suggested that Worf send Alexander Rozhenko to the training academy. (TNG episode: "Firstborn")

In 2392 (on stardate 69259.56) a combined Nausicaan/Gorn fleet attacked the world; the Gorn made it to the planet. Ja'rod was on Ogat at the time but survived the battle. After two weeks, the empire pushes the enemy fleet out of the star system.

The attack led to Chancellor Martok to withdraw the Klingon Empire from peace negotiations with the Gorn Hegemony. (ST website: The Path to 2409)

The position of Governor of Ogat was tied to one of the seats on the Klingon High Council. Kurn's seat on the Council gave him this post from his appointment in 2368 to 2372, when Chancellor Gowron stripped the House of Mogh of its lands and titles.
