Omega IX

Omega IX was a planet, the ninth planet of the Omega system, located in the galaxy's Alpha or Beta Quadrants.

History and specifics[]

In the year 2273, the Federation starship USS Enterprise was on a diplomatic mission to Omega IX when it was drawn off course by a gravitational field as strong as a black hole. It turned out to be a Klingon battlecruiser which snared the starship using an experimental gravitational field weapon. After the Enterprise destroyed the weapon, Spock estimated that they could still reach Omega IX on time, and the ship resumed its original heading. (TOS comic: "War in Space")
