The Omega Leonis sector block was a region of space, a sector block located in the galaxy's Beta Quadrant. The entirety of the block lay within the Klingon Empire. The block was made of three sectors, the B'Moth sector, the Qo'noS sector, and the Qu'Vat sector. The Alpha Quadrant Alliance used the Omega Leonis sector block as an astrometric reference until the commencement of the Iconian War. Naming[]

The sector block's name was derived from the class A star Omega Leonis, which lay in or near the block's boundaries. (STO - Empire mission: "Space Chase", ST reference: Star Charts)

History[]

Qo'noS, capital of the Klingon Empire, was the operations center of the Klingon Defense Force and unassailable by the Federation during the Federation-Klingon War of 2405-2410. The planet was attacked directly on several occasions while part of the sector block: by the Fek'Ihri Horde in 2409, and later the Undine and the Iconian Empire in 2410. Alternate timelines[]

In the Kelvin timeline, Starfleet used the designation Omega Leonis sector block as early as 2259, when it appeared on a computer graphic aboard the USS Enterprise on its flight to the Federation-Klingon Neutral Zone. In the same year, Khan Noonien Singh used a portable transwarp beaming device to travel to Qo'noS. On the device, the sector block was designated "Block 27". (TOS movie: Star Trek Into Darkness)
