Omega Maelstrom was an uninhabited star system located somewhere in the space of the galaxy's Alpha and Beta Quadrants, an expanse with proto-planetary debris scattered throughout the plane of the system's elliptic.
History and specifics[]
Some of the Omega Maelstrom system's asteroids were large enough to support mining operations, but early attempts proved uneconomical and were abandoned. The abandoned industrial sites were used as hideouts by Menalvagorean revolutionaries and pirates. (TOS video game: 25th Anniversary)
