Omicron Gruis (also known as Cheron or Chiron) was an F4V class yellow-white star located in the space of the Federation-Romulan Neutral Zone in the 24th century.
History and specifics[edit | edit source]
104 light-years distant from Sol, Cheron is visible from Earth in the Grus constellation. (ST reference: Star Charts; Last Unicorn RPG module: The Way of D'era: The Romulan Star Empire)
This system was located at coordinates -4499, 565, and is nearby to Iota Pavonis and Romulus.
In the Kelvin timeline, by the mid-23rd century, this system was considered Romulan territory. (ST video game: Fleet Command)
- In the Fleet Command game software, this system has a ID code of 252455179.
- Star Charts depicts this system as being near the heart of Romulan space, while the Last Unicorn Games RPG shows it within the confines of the Neutral Zone. Since Star Charts was based on three-dimensional maps projected on two-dimensional depictions, the position within the Empire is not treated as definitive by this article.
- In TNG video game: Birth of the Federation, the orbital configuration of the game map star systems was randomly generated each time a new game started.
