Onion

An onion was a type of plant lifeform originating on the planet Earth in the galaxy's Alpha Quadrant. There are numerous varieties native to Earth, as well as others originating from other planets. Types of onions are also known as chives, leeks, shallots and scallions.

History and specifics

In Human cuisine, different types of onion are utilized as an ingredient in food preparation. Typically divided by layers, the root of onion plants are generally edible by humanoid lifeforms.
