Summary[]
Experienced Starfleet Intelligence agent Lyn Kane was taking shore leave on Argelius II when he finds himself being chased by a criminal who thinks he possesses some priceless gemstone. Kane tells his trusted informant Shad that if Kane doesn't contact him within the next few hours to alert his supervisor. Kane is not heard from again.
Argelius station chief Regis Kedder assembles a task group to investigate the disappearance.
