Ophiucus (or Ophiucus colony) was a settlement in the triple star system 36 Ophiuchi. It was approximately 19.5 light-years from Earth and located in the Beta Quadrant. The colony existed as early as the mid- 22nd century, and served as a destination for Earth trading vessels. (ST reference: Star Charts)
The colony was located on Beta Ophiuchi VI, maintained a small pergium mine, and had a population of 28. (ST reference: Star Trek Maps)
- Whether or not it was an early Earth colony is not clear.
