The Orb of the Emissary was the tenth orb, or tear, of the Prophets.

History and specifics[]

After Dukat released a Pah-wraith into the Celestial Temple through an orb, that orb and the others went dark. This left Benjamin Sisko without any contact with the Prophets and the Bajoran people believing that their gods were either dead or that they had abandoned them. Sisko returned to Earth, where he had a vision of a woman, who he discovered was his mother Sarah Sisko. Sarah had been possessed by a Prophet who would later reside within the Orb of the Emissary after Sisko had been conceived. Sisko discovered the orb on Tyree and released the Prophet, who cast the Pah-wraith out of the wormhole. (DS9 episodes: "Tears of the Prophets", "Image in the Sand", "Shadows and Symbols")
