For other uses, see Oregon Trail.

The Oregon Trail was a colonial travel route across the continent of North America during the 19th century on Earth.

History and specifics[]

American settlers traveled with horses along this route, building towns and railroads as they went. A portion of the route was a footbridge across the Skunk River. By the 23rd century, the maglev Stampede Tubetrain subway followed this route.

In 2249, rebellious young James T. Kirk ran away from home, inspiring a few friends about the pioneer route of the Oregon Trail. They followed the route, traveling from Iowa to a Stampede boarding stop in Omaha, and then disembarked in Bremerton, Oregon. (TOS novel: Best Destiny)
