In the mirror universe, the Organians were the inhabitants of the planet Organia and a subject species of the Terran Empire.

Following a minor skirmish between the Terran and Klingon empires in the mid 2260s, Organia came under the control of the Terrans. Shortly thereafter, Vulcan and Tiburonese scientists arrived on Organia where they used sophisticated equipment to imprison and study the Organians, beings of pure energy and with god-like powers. The science teams main intention was to give Terrans and their allies pseudo-divine powers similar to those of the Organians.

Using the Organians as an energy source was a further consideration of the science teams stationed on the planet. (ST module: Through a Glass, Darkly)
