The Orion corvette was a frigate starship of the Orion Syndicate. Ships of this class usually operated in groups of three. Orion corvettes were among the starship designs the Syndicate did not share with the Klingon Empire. (STO mission: "Stranded in Space")

Technical data[edit | edit source]

Orion corvettes were considered frigates. In the early 25th century, the Orion corvette was the only known frigate class equipped with a hangar bay to launch small coombat shuttles. The corvettes were lightly armed with two disruptor arrays and photon torpedo launchers each; with one of each situated at the aft. In the early 25th century, Orion corvettes were the smallest capital starships in use by the Orion Syndicate. Only interceptors were smaller. (STO mission: "Stranded in Space")

History[edit | edit source]

In February 2409, several Orion corvettes were part of a flotilla attacking the Federation freighter SS Azura in the Vulcan sector. The flotilla was picked off one by one by a Starfleet Miranda-class frigate, and the Azura saved. (STO mission: "Stranded in Space")

Orion corvettes were among the forces guarding Syndicate drydocks in the Bhea star system. Starfleet eliminated all Syndicate ships and installations in the system. (STO mission: "Bhea System Patrol")

When the miners of the Kei system rejected paying money for protection, four groups of Orion raiders attacked the mining facilities. The miners were successfully defended by Starfleet. (STO mission: "Kei System Patrol")

In late 2409, hundreds of corvettes participated in massive Orion engagements with Federation and Klingon Defense Force starbases. (STO mission: "Fleet Alert")
