An Orion energy orb (also called power orbs) was a technological device known to the Orion civilization. It was a small sphere that glowed with stored energy and was quite valuable, used as a medium of monetary exchange as a sort of energy credit.

In the year 2372, an Orion traded half-a-dozen energy orbs to Benzar Okrin, which were intended for Manimoujak until they were seized by Kira Nerys and Ro Laren. (DS9 novel: Wrath of the Prophets)
