A friendly reminder regarding spoilers! As always, the expanded Trek universe is in a period of major upheaval with the continuations of Strange New Worlds and Prodigy, the advent of new eras in gaming with the Star Trek Adventures RPG and Star Trek Online, as well as other eventful releases such as Section 31, the ongoing IDW Star Trek comic and spin-off Star Trek: Defiant. Therefore, please be courteous to other users who may not be aware of current developments by using the {{spoiler}}, {{spoilers}} OR {{majorspoiler}} tags when adding new information from sources less than six months old (even if it is minor info). FerengiAlliance

Emblem of the Ferengi Alliance.

Orpax was a 24th century Ferengi man, one of the most expensive (and therefore best) medical doctors on Ferenginar. He charges two slips of latinum to walk into his waiting room.

Biography[]

In the year 2372, Quark had an appointment to see Orpax while he was on Ferenginar. Orpax diagnosed him with Dorek Syndrome and gave him a week to live at most. Orpax later contacted Julian Bashir on Deep Space 9 and asked him to tell Quark he was not dying. Quark was extremely pleased, as it meant he could sue Orpax for malpractice. Quark later discovered Orpax had been bribed by Brunt to tell him he was dying. (DS9 episode: "Body Parts", DS9 novel: Ferenginar: Satisfaction is Not Guaranteed)

In 2376, Orpax was treating Leeta while she was pregnant with her and Rom's child Bena. Ishka was wary of them using Orpax as he misdiagnosed Quark four years earlier. (DS9 novel: Ferenginar: Satisfaction is Not Guaranteed)
