Ortikan was a male Klingon and a member of the Klingon Defense Force in the 2370s. He was the Par'Mach'kai of Tavana.

In 2373, Ortikan was serving with Tavana on the IKS Rotarran. After Leskit hit home with how desperate the ships situation was, Kornan attacked him and turned on Ortikan, when the younger man stepped in. Ortikan received serious wounds in the frenzied attack and Jadzia Dax took him to Sickbay. Ortikan later supported Worf against Kornan and Leskit. (DS9 episode: "Soldiers of the Empire")

Ortikan was still serving on the Rotarran in 2376, when Worf and Ezri Dax used it to search for the Sword of Kahless. Ortikan was badly injured when the IKS Chak'ta attacked the Rotarran near Boreth. (DS9 - The Left Hand of Destiny novel: Book Two)

He was played by stunt actor Scott Leva in his canon appearance.
