In the mirror universe, Owen was a Terran who worked for the Klingon-Cardassian Alliance on Cestus III during the mid to late 24th century. At one point, he was responsible for the slaves working in the palace of B'Elanna, the Intendant of Cestus III. Owen disliked his own race, comparing the cooperative spirit of the Klingon-Cardassian Alliance to the venal and brute actions of the Terran Empire. Owen's son became a personal slave of the Intendant, and Owen took a liking to Kate Janeway. Janeway suspected that Owen had her own parents, who supported rebellion, killed. Owen taught Kate the history of the Alliance and instilled in her a hatred of her own kind.
He was the father of B'Elanna's favorite slave Thomas. (VOY - Mirror Universe novel: The Mirror-Scaled Serpent)
- Owen's surname was not given in The Mirror-Scaled Serpent, but it can be assumed that it is identical to that of his primary universe counterpart.
