See Oyama for other articles with titles that contain, either by relationship or by coincidence, this character's surname.

Oyama was a 23rd century Human woman. She served in Starfleet aboard the Federation starship USS Enterprise in the 2250s and 2260s decades under the commands of Captain Christopher Pike and James T. Kirk.

Biography[]

In the year 2253, Oyama was ranking officer on the bridge during the ship's visit to Areta when Captain Pike called asking for a lifeform scan in a particular region. She quickly relayed that there was a large concentration near a massif, with nothing between them and Pike's location. Pike then asked her to have him and three others beamed to within a kilometer of that location, and she relayed coordinates to the transporter room. (TOS novel: Vulcan's Glory)

In 2268, Oyama reported to Security Chief Vincent DeSalle. She, DeSalle, and Gomez were the security detail accompanying Leonard McCoy, Christine Chapel and Helen Gordon in a shuttlecraft to the planet Midgwis to investigate the activities of Yarblis Geshkerroth, who had assumed the identity of Kirk. They searched huts belonging to a Federation contact team. When the landing party visited a Klingon encampment, Oyama and Gomez served as sentries hidden in nearby brush. (TOS novel: Ghost-Walker)
