Paq M was a 23rd century Moauvian drug, a powerful animal tranquilizer that acted to sedate a lifeform's central nervous system.

History and specifics[]

In the year 2269, when a pet waul escaped from its cage aboard the USS Enterprise, Moauvian Ambassador Oavid recommended injecting Ewass with Paq M or Paq LQ to sedate her, but unfortunately Dr. Leonard McCoy did not have access to Moauvian pharmaceuticals. The panicked animal was eventually calmed by Lieutenant Shiboline M'Ress. (TOS audiobook: Passage to Moauv)

In 2273, McCoy threatened to shoot Rear Admiral James T. Kirk with a dart loaded with Paq M to help calm his nerves in the aftermath of the V'ger incident. Kirk mentioned the joke to Commander Spock shortly before taking shore leave on Earth. (TOS eBook: Shadow of the Machine)
