Paria

Paria was a binary star system, located somewhere in the neighborhood of the Kartella system in the Tekara or Vyntadi regions of the Delta sector block within the galaxy's Delta Quadrant. The system consisted a type G yellow star primary and a type K orange star secondary, with at least three planets orbiting the pair. The system included Paria III, site of a hive of Bluegill parasites. (STO - Delta Quadrant mission: "Bug Hunt")

History and specifics[]

On stardate 87187.4 in the year 2410, Alpha Team Leader T'Par submitted a tactical report about the Bluegill Hive on Paria III. T'Par advised a tactical team with a demolitions expert could fight the Bluegill, attack the Hive, and kill the spawnmother. (STO website: Delta Rising: Delta Rising Queue - Bug)

Lieutenant John VanDerveer, a demolitions specialist and survivor of the recently destroyed USS Buenos Aires, led a tactical Delta Alliance team from the surface to the underground location of the hive. The team defended itself against the Bluegill brood defending their spawnmother before while the team used demolitions to progress deeper underground. The Alliance team covered VanDerveer while he installed charges in the spwanmother's cave, detonating the entire hive after beaming out. (STO - Delta Quadrant mission: "Bug Hunt")
