Memory Beta, non-canon Star Trek Wiki

Fleet Admiral Patar was a Vulcan woman who served inside the Federation Starfleet as a high-ranking officer during the mid-23rd century. One of the admirals who were assigned to lead the activities of Section 31, a black ops division of the larger intelligence apparatus, despite her role inside the organisation, Patar was also known for her fanatical adherents to the beliefs of the logic extremists, who named her as a member of their renegade movement. During her service as one of the commanders attached to Section 31, Patar was a critical figure in their recruitment of the former Terran Emperor Philippa Georgiou and her desk received reports about the surveillance conducted on the Neutral Zone to safeguard the Federation against threats from the Romulan Star Empire and their sleeper agents. Later, she also became a proponent for the idea that Starfleet should turn its decision-making over to the threat assessment system Control, an artificial intelligence that her organisation utilised to coordinate its counter defences, believing it to be a measure that would enable her government to avoid future dangers. This effort sealed the fate of Patar and her fellow admirals, who soon discovered that Control had developed its own awareness which sought to evolve to achieve sentience in an event that could lead to the total eradication of life. Before any could be made to alert the Federation, however, Control shut down the life support on the space station where Patar and the others were stationed, killing them while it simulated holograms to maintain an illusion to their subordinates.
