The PentaKrem was a name of the military authority on United Earth in the mid 21st century, presumably comprised of the combined resources of the Pentagon of the United States of America and the Kremlin of Russia. (TOS novel: Strangers from the Sky)

This data point, as with much of the 21st century history described in Strangers from the Sky, was contradicted canonically by the TNG movie: Star Trek: First Contact.
