Pentarus is a star system that was located somewhere in the space of the the galaxy's Alpha or Beta Quadrants.
History and specifics[]
The Pentarus system's orbit was the location of a number of worlds, including two class M planets: fifth planet Pentarus V and second planet Pentarus II. Pentarus V was home to a colony of salenite miners. Four moons in this system were capable of supporting life, including Lambda Paz, in orbit of Pentarus III. (TNG episode: "Final Mission")
Pentarus appeared on a star chart hologram that Data and Picard were studying in stellar cartography in the year 2371. (TNG movie: Generations display graphic)
