Persephone V was an inhabited Federation planet, the fifth planet of the Persephone system, located on the edge of Federation space in the galaxy's Alpha Quadrant. (TOS novel: Pawns and Symbols, SNW episode: "Children of the Comet")

History and specifics[]

It had one moon. (SNW episode: "Children of the Comet", TNG - The Genesis Wave novel: Book 1)

In 2259, when the USS Enterprise surveyed the system, the planet was denoted on a star chart in the ready room. (SNW episode: "Children of the Comet")

In the 24th century, it was known for being a peaceful Federation planet with a population of ten million, with practically no crime or need of police. It was nearly as well known as Pacifica as a shore leave destination, and was home to a substantial number of Starfleet retirees. (TNG - The Genesis Wave novel: Book 1)

In the 2360s, Admiral Mark Jameson and his wife Anne Jameson lived on the planet. In 2364, the USS Enterprise-D orbited the planet and retrieved the Jamesons for a terrorist negotiation on Mordan IV. (TNG episode: "Too Short a Season")

In 2376, an emergency evacuation led by the USS Enterprise-E and USS Sovereign saved one million residents before Persephone V was struck by the Genesis Wave. Refugees disembarked at Starbase 393. (TNG - The Genesis Wave novel: Book 1)

In 2378, it remained on the list of Federation member worlds. (ST reference: Star Charts)

An unrelated planet named Persephone in the Delta Quadrant was visited by the USS Voyager in 2381. It was the homeworld of the non-corporeal species Children of the Storm. (VOY novel: Children of the Storm)
