A personal area cloaking device was a type of personnel cloaking device technology developed by the Romulan Star Empire.

History and specifics[]

In the year 2380, Alexander Munro of the USS Enterprise-E hazard team disguised himself as a Romulan in order to infiltrate a Romulan base where he was to meet an informant who turned out to be a Romulan woman with a personal area cloaking device. She revealed that it was a prototype technology developed by the Tal Shiar allowing them to cloak their operatives. The informant made use of the device to allow her to hide and protect her identity from the guards in the secret facility. (ST video game: Elite Force II)
