Peru and nearby regions in 1992.

Peru is a nation on the South American continent of the planet Earth. It was bordered by Chile to the south; the Pacific Ocean to the west; Ecuador and Colombia to the north; and Brazil and Bolivia to the east. (TOS - Khan comic: "Issue 2")

History[]

The novel The Bridge of San Luis Rey, published in 1927 by Thornton Wilder, took place in San Luis Rey, Peru. (TOS - Crucible novel: Provenance of Shadows)

In the 1970s, Peruvian Alberto Gomez was among the Augments created by the Chrysalis Project. In the 1980s he raised a rebel army in Peru, and by the summer of 1992, a civil war had broken out. (TOS - The Eugenics Wars novel: The Rise and Fall of Khan Noonien Singh, Volume 2)

When Jonathan Archer shared a story in The Captain's Table bar in 2152 about Porthos, Archer asked that the dog be served water from Peru that had been shaken, not stirred. (ENT - Tales from the Captain's Table short story: "Have Beagle, Will Travel: The Legend of Porthos")

In 2293, ancient songs from Peru were chosen to be performed, along with a selection of other Earth music and a Klingon operetta, by Nyota Uhura and opera singer Karglak during a Klingon musical exchange. Spock enjoyed listening to the rehearsals, but Uhura had to postpone their performance due to an emergency at Sanctuary. (TOS novel: The Last Roundup)

Alternate realities[]

In an alternate timeline created when Leonard McCoy saved the life of Edith Keeler, Peru was captured by the Japanese military in 1954 during World War II. (TOS - Crucible novel: Provenance of Shadows)

In the Kelvin timeline according to Khan Noonien Singh, in September 1992 Augment Dictator Asahf Ferris annexed Peru into the South American Union. By 1996, Augment infighting led to Peru becoming part of Alexander Newton's New American Empire. By the end of 1996, the Augment dictatorships were overthrown. (TOS - Khan comics: "Issue 2", "Issue 3")
