Phaser quad cannons

Phaser quad cannons in 2411.

A phaser quad cannon was a weapon technology, a directed energy weapons emitter installed on starships. Such a cannon fired four pulses of phaser energy simultaneously at a target, dealing a high amount of damage. As a quad cannon, it had a 45° firing arc. Phaser space weapons had a chance of knocking a target's subsystem out. In the 25th century, these cannons usually fired orange pulses. (STO - Klingon War mission: "Welcome to Earth Spacedock")

Legendary pilot warship classes

Defiant-based pilot warship classes in 2411.

In the 2370s decade, the Defiant-class prototype USS Defiant carried phasers that fired two pulses each from the tip of either warp nacelle embedded into the hull to devastating effect. (DS9 episode: "The Search")

At one point, this type of weapon was referred to as pulse phaser. (ST video game: Armada)

Phaser quad cannons counted among standard weapons aboard Federation Starfleet tier 4-rated Sao Paulo-class tactical escort refits and tier 6 pilot warships in the 2410s decade. They fired orange-colored bolts and were available with different ratings of advancement, ranging from unrated to mark XV. These cannons could be modified by personnel to improve accuracy, critical severity, critical chance and damage output. Aboard starships, phaser quad cannons could be slotted in fore emplacements only, like regular cannons, dual cannons and dual heavy cannons but unlike turrets. For increased combat effectiveness, either the phaser quad cannons or the agony phaser quad cannons could be paired cloaking device and quantum warhead module to form a stealth fighter set. (STO - Klingon War mission: "Welcome to Earth Spacedock")

In the mirror universe, agony phaser quad cannons were standard issue aboard Terran Adamant-class intel heavy raider. (STO website: Shadow's Advance: The 12th Anniversary Terran Bundle!)

Overload-linked phaser quad cannons were installed on ships derived from the 24th century Inquiry-class and 2400s-decade Avenger-class battlecruisers in their miracle worker battlecruiser configuration of 2411. (STO website: Incursion: The Legendary Avenger Miracle Worker Battlecruiser)
