The Phinda class[12], also known as Phindra class,[13] was a 22nd century[14] and 23rd century[15] United Planets of Tellar starship, a frigate[16] and interceptor[17] class in Tellar Space Administration service from the 2150s[18] decade. The class was named after the ancient deity Phinda.[19] (ENT - The Romulan War novel: Beneath the Raptor's Wing, ST video game: Fleet Command)
Specifications[]
Physical appearance[]
Structurally, the Phindra class closely resembled the Arkonian destroyer default model. Unlike the Pralim-class cruiser, gun emplacements for multiple kinetic weapons on either side of the primary hull had not been replaced with bubble-like bussard collectors. The hull material was metallic and painted in light brown.
Because the rest of the hull configuration was a close match of the Arkonian default, it's size was close to the Pralim-class model. (ST video game: Fleet Command)
Technology[]
These starships possessed advanced weapon and defensive capabilities within the Tellarite star navy, and were combatant vessels on the side of the Coalition of Planets allies during the Earth-Romulan War.
Unfortunately, this class was vulnerable to the Romulan arrenhe'hwiua telecapture system. (ENT - The Romulan War novel: Beneath the Raptor's Wing)
Ships of the class could be produced when accessing their blueprints. Their were built in mass quantities.
In the Kelvin timeline, the Independent faction active in the Neutral zone had access to what was now called the Phindra class besides the Federation and Tellarites themselves. Like any ship used by these groups, it's maximum warp factor, warp eight, matched that of the Starfleet flagship USS Enterprise}. The defense consisted of deflector shields, offense of phaser arrays and photon torpedo launchers.
In combat, the Phindra class was 10% more effective against battleships. (ST video game: Fleet Command)
Service history[]
The TSC Miracht was frigate of the new Phinda class in the 2150s decade. In 2155, the Miracht was almost captured by the Romulan arrenhe'hwiua telecapture system. Captain Prev prevented the dishonorable loss by triggering an explosion in the ship's warp core, destroying the Miracht with all hands. (ENT - The Romulan War novel: Beneath the Raptor's Wing)
Alternate timeline[]
In the Kelvin timeline, this vessel of Tellarite origin was called Phindra class and categorised as an interceptor in the 23rd century. It was less powerful than the Kehra-class interceptor.
From the year 2262, Independents active in the Neutral Zone could build Phindra-class interceptors after building goodwill with the Federation. (ST video game: Fleet Command)
