Piers Renault was a male Human who served as press liaison for Governor Nanietta Bacco of Cestus III in the 24th century. In 2379 he was having a difficult time with Lieutenant Governor Yrolla Gari, who was serving in Bacco's stead as she ran her presidential campaign from Earth. After Bacco was elected, Renault was replaced by the Caitian, M'Tesint, who had served as press liaison on Bacco's campaign. (TNG novel: A Time for War, A Time for Peace)
