Pierson's Puppeteers were a bicephalic non-humanoid species encountered by Humans in the 23rd century.

History and specifics[edit | edit source]

McCoy treated an injured Pierson's Puppeteer in the early 2270s while part of the Frontier Medics Program. It had difficulty walking and had requested brllictucc powder. (TOS - Leonard McCoy, Frontier Doctor comic: "Medics")

The Puppeteer appeared on that issue's retail incentive cover, with artist John Byrne crediting Larry Niven. The species were part of Niven's Known Space series, but they did have another Star Trek connection. The role of the Pierson's Puppeteer in Niven's short story "The Soft Weapon" was given to Spock when Niven adapted the story into TAS episode: "The Slaver Weapon".
