Pitkin was a 23rd century Human man, a Starfleet medical doctor.

Biography[]

In the 2260s decade, he served at the Starfleet Veterans' Hospital on Lavinius V.

In 2267, he was forcibly confronted by a patient uprising at the hospital orchestrated by his associate, Lieutenant En-Lai, and including terminally ill veteran officers Malesa Norabi, Rakaar, and Haak Trobis. He was compelled to transmit a distress call, then two days later when the starship USS Enterprise arrived, he told Captain James T. Kirk that one of his associates would beam aboard to supervise a transfer of medicines. Defiant, Pitkin told En-Lai he'd like to see him treated on Elba II. En-Lai then shot him, claiming it was mercy, before proceeding with his plan to commandeer the starship USS Enterprise. (TOS comic: "A Small Matter of Faith")

It was unstated if Pitkin was stunned or killed. However, Spock's assessment of En-Lai's background and tactics concluded that he had no desire to harm anyone, so a heavy stun was the more likely possibility.
