In one permutation of the mirror universe in which the Terran Empire survived well into the 24th century, Plato was a noted Terran philosopher who lived during the 4th and 5th centuries BC.

In 2367, the Captain Jean-Luc Picard of the primary universe was astonished to discover from the ISS Enterprise-D's historical database that, in contrast to his primary universe counterpart, Plato argued that the most effective government is one in which the strong exercise all the power, which they use to protect the weak.
