Memory Beta, non-canon Star Trek Wiki

The Pojjana (also known as Pojjan or Pojjans) were a sentient humanoid civilization native to the planet PojjanPiraKot in the Bal Quonnot and PojjanPiraKot system (a star system in what would become known as the Red sector).

History and specifics[]

The Pojjana were a humanoid species, short and stocky compared to Humans. They had deep bronze skin with a greenish tinge. Their clothing typically was knit, with fringes and beads attached.

The Pojjans were not as advanced as their nearest planetary neighbors, the Bal Quonnot. Because of their greater technology, the Bal Quonnot tended to be the dominant force in their shared star system in terms of politics and diplomacy.

When the Bal Quonnot allied with the Romulan Empire in the 24th century, the Pojjana responded by making overtures towards the Federation for an alliance of their own. After a Romulan scientist, Zevon, caused a disastrous gravity wave called the Constrictor, the Pojjana homeworld was devastated. Xenophobia became rampant through their society, as an uninvited alien has caused the deaths of over a billion of their people. Despite the Federation's offers of assistance, the Pojjana distrust of outworlders became too strong, and they expelled Ambassador Spock and his embassy staff from their world in the year 2353.
