Pop lizard

A pop lizard.

The pop lizard was a small, carnivorous reptilian animal species native to Aleph III.

History and specifics[]

With between five and ten extrusions on its oval body, it looked like a starfish. It hunted by shallowly burying itself in the ground, emerging when it felt vibrations overhead. It wrapped its extrusions around the object and chewed into it with a mouthful of pointed teeth. It could eventually chew through a boot.

In the 2260s, pop lizards could be found near Federation Genetics Research Station 17. Four of them were kept in small animal pens for examination by zoologists Carver Destry and Daniel Lane.

In 2270, just as the station was being closed down, Captain Koloth led a raiding party to attempt to steal the facility's research notes and specimens. (FASA RPG - Adventure Book module: Again, Troublesome Tribbles)
