The Praetor class was a 23rd[1] century Romulan starship type, a battlecruiser revived by the Romulan Republic in the 25th century as a tier 6-rated command warbird battlecruiser, in Romulan Republic Navy service in the 2410s decade. (STO website: Ascension: Become the Praetor!)

The Praetor class operated in the 2260s as a battlefield asset, technology demonstrator and protected mobile command post, all rolled into one. (STO website: Ascension: Become the Praetor!)
A ship of this class was at the disposal of the Praetor of the Romulan Star Empire as flagship. (SNW episode: "A Quality of Mercy")
In the 2410s, the Romulan Republic reintroduced this class to its Navy. The design was shared with the Republic's allies in the Khitomer Alliance in 2411. (STO website: Ascension: Become the Praetor!)
Alternate timeline[]
In an alternate timeline were Starfleet Captain Christopher Pike changed his fate, the Romulan praetor commanded a ship of this class when she led her fleet into combat against the Federation starship USS Enterprise in 2266. (SNW episode: "A Quality of Mercy")
