- For other uses, see Prometheus.
Prometheus was a material option, a Khitomer Alliance designation for the visual appearance of a spacecraft's outer hull, i.e. a vessel's "skin". Prometheus was available for advanced escort classes of the Federation and its Starfleet service branch. Prometheus put the ship in a light grey cover accented with deflector grids. The warp plasma in the nacelles appeared bright blue, bleeding into white. Similarly, the bussard collectors shone red, brightening to white. (STO - Klingon War mission: "Welcome to Earth Spacedock")
History and specifications[]
This material was inspired the appearance of the Prometheus-class prototype USS Prometheus from 2374. (VOY episode: "Message in a Bottle")
The Prometheus material became available to prime universe Starfleet advanced escorts and mirror universe patrol escorts with the launch of the tier 6 Hestia advanced escort and the USS Hestia in 2410. (STO - New Dawn mission: "Welcome to Earth Spacedock")
Ship classes eligible to apply this material were: Cerberus, Hephaestus, Hestia, Phoenix, and Prometheus. (STO - Klingon War mission: "Welcome to Earth Spacedock")
