A protoplaser was a medical device used to treat wounds.

In 2381, Doctor T'Manis reported to special agents Gariff Lucsly and Marion Dulmur that Teresa Garcia's wounds were partially healed by a protoplaser. (DTI novel: Watching the Clock)
