Proxima Centauri is a planet in the Proxima Centauri star system, the homeworld of the Proxima Centaurian civilization, an offshoot of the Human race. (TOS - Year Five comic: "Issue 22")
History and specifics[]
By the 2280s, Proxima Centauri was home to 4.47 billion Centaurans, was a full member of the Federation, and was notable for its culture, industry, shipbuilding, trade, and vast stretches of unspoiled wilderness. Its shipyard manufactured four scouts and 10 frigates per year. The Federation Peace Studies Institute was also located there. (FASA RPG module: The Federation)
