At an unknown date, James T. Kirk and crew answered a distress signal from a settlement on the planet Psizo. Nyota Uhura detected enemy weapons, prompting Spock to recommend caution. Kirk concurred, and ordered Pavel Chekov to raise shields. In the atmosphere, the USS Enterprise engaged antiair batteries and birds-of-prey, then beamed up survivors.
