Regulus V was one of over twenty planets inhabited by Regulan felinoids, who are also known as Caitians. Some references call Regulus V the homeworld of this species, although their identity is also centralized to the 15 Lyncis system. (Decipher RPG module: Starfleet Operations Manual)
By the 2370s, Regulus V was a full-fledged Federation member planet. (ST reference: Star Charts)
Regulus V had at least one native lifeform, the eel-bird. (TOS episode: "Amok Time")
