The Ptarmigan (NCC-92317/04) was a 24th century Federation spacecraft, a Type-6 shuttlecraft in Starfleet service in the 2380s decade. The Ptarmigan was assigned to the Centaur-class science vessel USS Resolute. (ST video game: Resurgence)
Service history[]
On stardate 57931.4 in the year 2380, the Ptarmigan was one of several shuttles - alongside the Polar, Baffin and Melville - undergoing maintenance in the lower decks while the Resolute was docked at Starbase 128 and preparing for relaunch. The Ptarmigan had suffered corrosion. Petty Officer Carter Diaz cleared debris from the inside of a hatch using a plasma torch and replaced a burned-out plasma coil. When he finished the work, the shuttle's aft hatch opened successfully. Nili Edsilar had said the coils were "totally fried." Another engineer working on Shuttlecraft Polar had misplaced a hyperspanner across the shuttlebay near Ptarmigan, thanking Diaz for returning it.
