Pumpkin is a type of vegetable, a variety of squash that grows from a plant on the planet Earth. Pumpkin is part of many Human foods and also plays a part in Human culture as both a decoration and a useful object.

Pumpkin pie was a pie made from pumpkins. This was available at pie-eating contests in the 25th century. (STO - Q's Winter Wonderland mission: "Pie Eating")
In November 2381, while taking shore leave at her family home in Indiana, Kathryn Janeway harvested a huge pumpkin from her mother Gretchen Janeway's vegetable garden. (VOY novel: Protectors)
