The Purists were a radical group of Pevvni, who embraced violence in their opposition to the overwhelming influence of Ganitriul, the artificial intelligence which controlled all automated systems and functions on their former home world of Eerlik.

In 2376, the Purists, led by a Eerlikka named Undlar, sabotaged Ganitriul, as well as assassinating the clergy members who maintained the computer and the First Speaker of Eerlik, Ansed. (SCE eBook: Fatal Error)
